That's so interesting -- it never would have occurred to me that with more people it would be easier to stay on budget.

Thanks, Emily, for asking me to participate! And I can't believe I cooked a recipe from Family Circle -- never say never! :)

I really like this new twist on the $50/wk challenge! It must be tough to keep finding new ways to sound enthused about eating on a budget. Everyone's posts (yes, even Cari's quasi-rant of this week) have been terrific.

I've learned a lot, and I've been trying to stick pretty close to the $50/wk/person over the summer for our family of 4 (with kids who eat more than we do, so I give them the full budget amount!).

I think it's a LOT easier to eat well on this budget as the amount scales up for a family -- the challenge for the single person is significantly harder, it seems. I can buy a good sized hunk of nice cheese and not blow 20% of my budget for the week, for example.

I've also loved discovering Sarah's blog and continue to be amazed at the generosity of spirit you all display!

Thanks again.
