Portland: Cari Luna

Cari Luna
Cari Luna is a novelist and stay-at-home mom. She received her MFA in Fiction from Brooklyn College. She is a 2005 Ragdale Foundation fellow. Her short fiction, published in failbetter, was nominated for a 2008 Pushcart Prize and honored as a storySouth Notable Story of 2006. In 2007, she, her husband, their son, and their nervous little dog left Brooklyn, NY, for the promised land of Portland, Oregon. She’s happy to report that Portland is, indeed, Utopia, provided you don’t mind a wee bit of rain. She also blogs at Dispatches from Utopia.
“There’s a very active three-year-old boy on the loose in my house, so our meals have to come together fast or cook on their own without a lot of fuss. We’re ovo-lacto vegetarians. You’re going to see an awful lot of kale and tempeh from me. Mmmm….tempeh.”
Five things always found in Cari’s kitchen:
Tempeh
Mirin
Barley miso
Lentils
Apples
